Studio Still Life
In this picture I decided to photograph common contents that someone might carry in their wallet or pockets. These objects show a little bit of who this person is, it shows they have an interest in the outdoors and hands on activities. The arrangement of the objects in this photo is simple with the light behind where the photo is taken. This positioning of light does not create any shadows. I purposely positioned the light behind the camera so that shadows would not be cast by the objects, in this way the photo is kept cleaner and more simple.

"Found" Still Life
I photographed my "found" still life in my basement workshop. In the picture with the chainsaws I arranged the saws, helmet an axes in front of a woodpile. In the second photo of my workbench, I did not arrange the objects at all. I simply photographed the tools in the spots in which I left them the last time I worked on a project. I used a painter's light in my basement to create the light I needed to capture the perfect photograph. in both of these pictures, the light has been placed behind the camera so that the light shines upon the objects but allows the picture to still come out good. The objects in these pictures allow the viewer to dive into the life of this person. They show that this person is a hard worker, who also enjoys to sit back and unwind with woodworking.
